NFGF assistance in the construction of cattle Shed's

Okhandhunga: A country with an economy based on agriculture has to pay a heavy price for the catastrophic earthquake that struck on 29and 30 Baishakh 2072 has caused a huge loss of property and livestock. On the one hand, along with the grief of the relatives, even the livestock that has lost their homes and is being reared with love like children are being left unattended due to lack of shelter. None of the agencies working in the field of agriculture has been able to pay attention to this.

In view of these issues, the National Farmers Group Federation Nepal, an umbrella organization of farmers, in collaboration with Care Nepal, selected 190 marginalized farmers from Okhaldhunga and 4 VDCs of the Udaipur district. A money transfer program at the rate of Rs. 15,000 was completed to 85 farmers of the district. Uddhav Adhikari, Central President of the Federation of National Farmers' Group, the chief guest at the event, said that the country should learn from the respect shown to agriculture by the farmers of Bilandu village who are constructing permanent sheds for livestock even while they are living in the hut.  Speaking on the occasion, Prakash Kafle, Program Manager, Right to Food Project, Care Nepal, thanked us for accepting our small contribution in a positive way and making the program a success. Representatives of local political parties, VDC secretaries, and representatives of local organizations, praised the federation for this kind of campaign and thanked it for working in line with the sentiments of real farmers.
