Farmer Field and Business School (FFBS) Model Learning and Systemic Policy Dialogue

The Farmer Field and Business School (FFBS) Model Learning and Systemic Policy Dialogue was successfully conducted today, Friday, 9th of Shrawan 2082 (July 25, 2025), at Alfa House, New Baneshwor.
The chief guest of interaction was Dr. Hari Bahadur K.C., Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development; Dr. Ramanandan Tiwari, Director General of the Department of Livestock Services, as special guest; and guest was Lalan Kumar Singh, Deputy Director General of the Department of Agriculture. The event also saw the participation of representatives from the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the National Association of Rural Municipalities in Nepal (NARMIN), the Federation of Community Forest Users Nepal (FECOFUN), civil society and non-governmental organizations, development partners including CARE Nepal, farmers, farmer group representatives, officials from different tiers of the National Farmers Group Federation, Nepal, media, and about 60 stakeholders working in the agriculture sector.
The discussion primarily focused on agricultural extension services, their expansion, and strategic integration. Key points emphasized included the need to adopt environment-friendly and sustainable agriculture, the importance of expanding extension services to promote agricultural entrepreneurship, and the necessity of effective budget allocation, program implementation, and systemic coordination to bring agricultural services closer to farmers through coherent policies and programs at all levels of government.
The event was organized by the National Farmers Group Federation Nepal in collaboration with CARE Nepal.
