Federation's fifth foundation day and third social audit program completed
On 2073 Bhadra 23rd National Farmer's Group Federation, Nepal's Fifth Foundation Day and Third Social Accounting Program concluded in Nepal Pragya Pratishthan's meeting hall in the presence of guests of the guest Honorable Agriculture Development Minister Gauri Shekar Choudhary, Chief Hospitality, Social Welfare Council Deputy Director Ram Raja Bhatrai, regional Agriculture Director Achyut Prasad Dhakal, Crop Protection Director of the directorate Dr. Dilli Ram Sharma and program organizer of Care Nepal, Prakash Kafle was present. The program was inaugurated by the Honorable Minister for Agriculture Development Shree Gauri Shankar Chaudhary. Campaigns and programs and achievements of the federation since its inception till date challenges to be faced by the federation. For the current status of the federation, and future programs, the public Accounts Program was conducted among the representatives of the concerned governmental and non-governmental organizations by presenting the details of income and expenditure of FY 2072/73. The Federation has been advocating for the rights of the general farmers and the problems and issues of agriculture and farmers.
Regarding the role of the Federation in raising the issues of farmers and the initiatives taken at the local level Laxmi Wagle from Tanah, Muna Shrestha and Sita Vania from Okhaldhuga, Pradip Sunar and Aradhana Chaudhary from Siraha, Mahesh Chaudhary from Udaipur, Yagya Bahadur B.K from Arghakhanchi, Mahananda Safkota from Makwanpur and Ashok Kumar KC from Lalitpur shared their views. In that program to help establish a federation Mr. Khem Sharma Poudel, Director of General Agriculture Department, Dr. Dilli Ram Sharma Director of Crop Conservation Directorate, Mr. Achyut Dhakal, Director Madhyamanchal Regional Directorate, Dr. Kanchan Raj Pandey, Program Head Agricultural Commodity Export Program, Mr. Lal Kumar Shrestha Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture Development Dr. Shyam Kishore Shah, former Director-General of Agriculture Department and Agricultural Journalist were awarded a letter of commendation and a shawl. The program was chaired by NFGFs President Uddhav Adhikari, welcomed by Vice President Bhakta Bahadur Basnet and Operations Secretary-General Nawaraj Basnet and the program was attended by 150 people including representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations and farmers' representatives from 26 different districts.
